SUKIN ORGANICS - SKIN CARE ROUTINE

We need to have a talk. The beauty industry has been selling us short and telling us to buy their overpriced products for way too long. I'm all for luxury items, but I'm also all about using skin care products that don't have any nasty and unnecessary chemicals.

Let me introduce you to my favourite skin care range: Sukin Organics.

I've had some bad experiences with skin care products. My first skin care range was from Clinique, and although the packaging was beautiful and the products seemed to last forever they were seriously overpriced. In my defence, I was only just learning about the importance of skin care at the time and though that the more a product cost the better is was. Boy was I wrong. Not just wrong though, SUPER WRONG.

My second bad experience was with Arbonne. I had a friend recommend the products to me and asked me to be a representative. She even offered me some trial products which was fabulous. She told me all about the benefits of the products, affordability and how to use them. And they were paraben free which I was so keen on. Upon application the products were amazing and I was sold. However, the next morning when I woke up my skin was radiating heat and was hot to the touch. I was red, sore, and had chemical burns all over my face. When I asked about it I was informed that that was the products way of getting all of the bad chemicals out of my face, and that it was supposed to bring the bad chemicals to the top. BIG FAT NOPE. Not interested. Paraben free or not, if your face is covered in chemical burns you need to walk away. That's just my personal experience though, so if it works for you then keep doing what you're doing.

It wasn't until I moved in with a house mate a few years later that she introduced me to Sukin.

Packaging

The packaging from these products is plain and simple, and is used to distinguish itself from speciality products in the range, such as the super greens and oil balancing range.

They're also incredibly user friendly for the girl on the go, with pumps, droppers and a mister included for quick and easy application.

'At Sukin our tagline and focus are simple. Skincare that doesn't cost the earth isn't nearly a commitment to affordable products, but also to the creation of beautiful skincare at minimal cost to our precious environment'.

Textures & Scents

I'm a huge fan of the Foaming Facial Cleanser. If I was stuck on a desert island and was only allowed to take three things then this would be one of them. Two pumps, and I have enough to clean all of my make-up off of my face and neck, it's brilliant! I find that the foaming really helps to remove my make-up and any excess dirt and grime that I may have accumulated that day or night. And the smell is to die for!

Again, the Mist Toner and Moisturiser have that same beautiful smell that the cleanser has, and it makes each morning and evening a pleasurable experience for your nose. After using the cleanser I apply the toner and allow that to absorb before applying the moisturiser. The toner is also a great way to re-hydrate your makeup if you're going from work to a function.

Lastly, I apply the Organic Rose Hip Oil every night before bed and on weekends to allow my skin to absorb some much needed moisture. The biggest issue that I have with the Rose Hip Oil though is the smell. I adore what this product does for my skin in terms of reducing blemishes, increasing brightness and providing moisture however the smell, which for me smells like old oil from a deep fryer, leaves much to be desired. So if you have any recommendations of alternative products that will give me the same pay off please let me know.
